The History of Christian Doctrine
The history of doctrine is a branch of historical theology. It is a discipline that explains and describes the historical evolution of theological thought. This book traces the gradual development of theological thought, from the apostolic era to the final formation of doctrine. When describing the historical changes in theological thought, the relationship between doctrinal history and church history is quite close; the author views the development of church doctrine as an internal organic whole.
