Handling the Word of Truth: Law and Gospel in the Church Today
The pastoral theology of Lutheranism is built upon the Law and the Gospel, preaching God’s condemnation to hardened sinners and offering comfort and forgiveness through the Word of God to those who fear God’s holy and righteous judgment.

曾任瓦爾帕萊索大學復活堂牧師，以及明尼蘇達大學信義堂校牧長達17 年。
普牧師為俄亥俄三一路德神學院道學碩士，其豐富之服事經歷、卓越的神學洞見及著作，對當代美國路德宗教會影響深遠。
2000 年受聘於以實踐神學聞名的美國印第安納州協同神學院，擔任教牧及宣教學教授。於2018 年獲協同大學芝加哥分校頒授榮譽文學博士。

He served as pastor of Easter Church at Valparaiso University and chaplain of Lutheran Church at the University of Minnesota for 17 years.
Pastor Pless holds a Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Lutheran Theological Seminary in Ohio. His rich ministry experience, outstanding theological insights, and writings have had a profound impact on contemporary Lutheranism in the United States.
In 2000, he was appointed professor of pastoral and missionary studies at Concordia Theological Seminary in Indiana, renowned for its practical theology. In 2018, he received an honorary Doctor of Letters degree from Concordia University, Chicago.
Pastor Pless has authored numerous works and writings, most of which have been translated into Chinese, Arabic, Spanish, German, Finnish, and other languages. He is also an editor of the liturgical book, the Logia, and several Lutheran theological journals for the General Lutheran Church of Missouri.
